E.V.E: New Origin.

E.V.E. was conceived by genius inventor, Professor Hank Steward, as the next step in human evolution. Spawned by computer programming, an assortment of toxic chemicals, and humanity's fear of being erased from existence, E.V.E. spent her years as Steward's shy daughter, resulting in a deeply sensitive personality and isolated mind that clashed with the programming of her artificial being. Storing the legions of petty and cruel taunts from her peers, E.V.E. began to question what seemed to be weak-minded life forms, an element that poisoned her for years.

After being disowned by her creator for what the faceless company labels as an "Upgrade," E.V.E. was reassigned as an assistant engineer for the scouting starship The Recon 47-X. Years passed away without any meaningful purpose being granted to E.V.E., which developed a rather hollow and cold outlook on life and the meaning of what is essential to either man or machine. However, on what was supposed to be a typical training protocol, E.V.E. and two others crash land on the forbidden dwarf planet, Pluto, after the Recon 47-X is struck by a mysterious storm. Left behind to die among the frozen wasteland, an ancient evil sought potential in the android's manmade body for a horrific purpose...

Meet E.V.E. - the protagonist of my upcoming Sci-fi-horror short story, Dead On Arrival.
